Hello my lovelies!
Today I want to give a special Woman Crush Wednesday shout out to my friend, Kayla! Kayla is the last of my 2020 brand ambassadors, but getting to know her is a special treat, so I wanted to save her for the end of the year!
We met while in college, and this badass babe is seriously AMAZING. While I was studying photography, she chose a career path as an actor…and this incredible woman actually performs at Dollywood! I mean…if that isn’t one of the coolest jobs EVER, I don’t know what is!
Kayla the Brand Ambassador
Kayla and I took a moment to chat about her time as a Someplace Images Brand Ambassador. With the year coming to a close, this group of amazing women will soon be passing on the torch to a new group of Ambassadors…so I wanted to know what she’d loved about her time in the program!
What makes you the most excited about your Ambassadorship for Someplace Images?
“Learning how to embrace my body as well as others. Carly is such a positive influence, and I want to hold myself to her standard and share her love with everyone I know.”

Kayla shared a few more fun details about herself!
Talk about some of your tatts (if you have them)!
I have 5 tattoos.
My first three were picked from a book at a shop all within a year of one another when I was 18. I pretend they have meaning, but they are mostly bc I wanted a tattoo.
The lips on my ass (my first tattoo) was a friends’ tattoo with my childhood best friend. We are still good friends, but life has gotten in the way of us seeing each other often. She is my dogs’ vet.
I have a nautical star on my side. Half of each point is blue, and the other half is a circuit board. My ex fiancee’s brother designed it for him. He had two. One on each pec. He passed away from cancer in 2008 after we had broken up. We remained friends after the break up even though I was terrible to him, and I got the tattoo in memory of him.
I have the outline of a book about the size of a quarter on my right rib cage under my breast that I got impulsively a couple of years ago in Austin with my best friend.
How have you been spending quarantine?
Working. I was one of 4 people (distillers excluded) kept on at my second job at a moonshine distillery. I spent weeks bottling and filling 5 gallon buckets of hand sanitizer.
How do you decompress? Do you have a favorite self-care routine?
Reading or watching mindless tv.
Where is your “happy” place?
The beach. Preferably in Savannah, Georgia.
What’s your Hogwarts House?
I think Slytherin, but Pottermore says Ravenclaw
If you wrote an autobiography right now, what would the title be?
All My Friends are Assholes
(It would mostly be funny bc my friends are assholes in the best ways)
One Last Note From Kayla
“Body positivity isn’t something you suddenly wake up and have. And just because you’re body positive doesn’t mean you don’t have days where you don’t fully love yourself. Body positivity is a journey where, if you open yourself up to it, you meet some kick-ass people, yourself included, along the way.”
